Paediatric Cardiologist
Dr Jascha Kehr
M.D, FRACP
Dr Jascha Kehr was born in Germany and attended Medical school at the Georg August University and Johannes Gutenberg University in Germany and the University Victor Segalen in Bordeaux, France.
He undertook general Paediatric and Paediatric Cardiology training at the University Children’s Hospital in Mainz, Germany before moving to New Zealand in 2011 where he completed his basic paediatric training and then continued his Paediatric Cardiology training. He undertook cardiology Fellowships in Mainz, Germany, at the Greenlane Paediatric and Congenital Cardiac Service, Starship Hospital in Auckland, New Zealand and at the Heart Centre for Children at the Children’s Hospital at Westmead.
Dr Kehr’s special interests include General Paediatric Cardiology, Fetal Cardiology, Heart rhythm abnormalities and inherited cardiac disease (genetic cardiology). Dr Kehr is multilingual and speaks German, French and Spanish.
Dr Kehr runs joint fetal cardiology clinics with maternal fetal medicine specialists through the maternal fetal medicine department at John Hunter Hospital. He is passionate about improving access to care for our regional and remote patients and offers clinics in Taree, Tamworth and Moree organized through the John Hunter Children’s Hospital. He is also passionate about improving outcomes for our pacific neighbours and regularly does outreach trips to the pacific islands.
